JAKARTA – The Government of Indonesia through the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 ensures that as many as 89 laboratories have actively conducted COVID-19 examinations spread throughout Indonesia.
“As many as 48 of them are laboratories scattered in hospitals throughout Indonesia,” said Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto in an official statement at the Media Center of the Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, Graha National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) Jakarta, Wednesday (29/4).
In addition to the laboratories in a number of hospitals, as many as 15 laboratories owned by universities throughout Indonesia have also been active in examining samples related to COVID-19.
While 18 laboratories are a network of laboratories under the Ministry of Health, and five other laboratories are networks of health laboratories in the regions.
“Then, the three laboratories are under the veterinary center under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry,” Yuri added.
Until Wednesday at 12.00 WIB, the number of specimens related to COVID-19 examined reached 86,985 specimens from 67,784 people with 9,771 positive cases and 58,013 negative cases.
Positive confirmation of COVID-19 who managed to recover reached 1,398 people, while those who died reached 784 people.
DKI Jakarta is still the province with the highest number of positive cases, healed and died, namely 4,092 positive cases, 440 people recovered, and 370 people died.
