JAKARTA – The Indonesian government through the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 recorded the number of additional positive COVID-19 confirmed cases per day today Wednesday (5/20) at 12.00 West Indonesia Time increased by 693 people bringing the total to 19,189. Whereas patients recovered to 4,575 after there were an increase of 108 people and cases died to 1,242 with the addition of 21 people.
“There are 693 people infected from the recording of laobratorium today, bringing the total to 19,189 people. The number of cases recovered increased to 108 people, making a total of 4,575 people. 21 people died, making 1,242 people,” said Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto in an official statement at the Media Center of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19, Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta, Wednesday (5/20).
The criteria for recovery of accumulated patients are based on the results of laboratory tests for two times and when there are no more clinical complaints.
In this case, there are comorbidities or comorbidities of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and lung disease, which worsen the patient’s condition until death.
Based on data received by the Task Force, the five provinces with the highest number of positive cases were DKI Jakarta with a total of 6,236 cases followed by East Java with 2,496 West Java 1,876, Central Java 1,192, South Sulawesi 1,101 and other regions in Indonesia, bringing the total to 18,496 people.
Then for the distribution of cases recovered from 34 Provinces in the country, the highest DKI Jakarta is 1,329 then West Java 412, East Java as much as 387, South Sulawesi 367, Bali 276, and other regions in Indonesia so that the total reaches 4,575 people.
Furthermore, the Task Force details other positive COVID-19 data in Indonesia, namely in the Province of Aceh 18 cases, Bali 371 cases, Banten 699 cases, Bangka Belitung 35 cases, Bengkulu 67 cases, Yogyakarta 209 cases.
Furthermore in Jambi 89 cases, West Kalimantan 132 cases, East Kalimantan 264 cases, Central Kalimantan 241 cases, South Kalimantan 547 cases, and North Kalimantan 160 cases.
Then in Riau Islands 140 cases, West Nusa Tenggara 393 cases, South Sumatra 646 cases, West Sumatra 428 cases, North Sulawesi 152 cases, North Sumatra 250 cases, and Southeast Sulawesi 202 cases.
Whereas in Central Sulawesi 115 cases, Lampung 85 cases, Riau 107 cases, North Maluku 96 cases, Maluku 124 cases, West Papua 106 cases, Papua 409 cases, West Sulawesi 78 cases, East Nusa Tenggara 76 cases, Gorontalo 28 cases and in the process field verification of 21 cases.
The data accumulation was taken from 211.883 specimen test results conducted using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method in 66 laboratories and Melocular Rapid Test (TCM) in 29 laboratories. A total of 154,139 people examined obtained 19,189 positive data and 134,950 negative.
Then for the number of Monitoring People (ODP) who are still being monitored there are 44,703 people and Patients Under Supervision (PDP) who are still being monitored there are 11,705 people. The data was taken from 34 provinces and 391 districts / cities in the country.
