Gangan

Gangan has become the most popular cuisine in Belitung. Although it is named the same and gets the culinary influences of Kalimantan, but the gangan in Belitung is slightly different from Gangan Kalimantan where the Belitong gangan is more spicy and sour which is likely due to the influence of the Bugis tribe who inhabit the coast of Belitong Island. Gangan belitung is made from fish and has yellow sauce, it tastes very spicy, sour, salty and slightly sweet. All types of sea fish or land fish can be processed into gangan. As a fishy odor remover in fish that live around the reef, pineapples, sour eggplants, kedondong leaves, turmeric flowers, wuluh starfruit and kandis acid are usually added. While mustard greens, cucumbers, and taro tubers are added to fish which are not included in reef fish. For people of Belitung, there is no means to do nothing.

Bedulang

Bedulang rice is a tradition that Belitung residents still like to do until now. served through a tampah which is covered with serving caps.Inside there are various kinds of side dishes. In the middle there is a yellow gangan meat. One package of rice rolls is prepared for 4 people.

The food in a broken rice hood can vary from place to place. But in essence, the food served is what nature provides for the residents of Belitung. If you look at the origin, actually the beginning of simple rice is simple. Eat bedulang is a tradition of warmth of the Belitung family when eating together.

Ipok-ipok

Ipok-ipok, a typical cake from Malay land, is made from rabbit flour (cassava flour) with a tasty sambal filling which is shaped like a croquette or in a pastel shape.
